I have a myspace site, but what I hope that we can do is include only CONJUNTO MUSIC LOVERS in THIS site! I have added alot of friends over at myspace that are more into Tejano (Gary Hobbs, etc) or norteno (Edicion Nortena, etc), (plus promoters, web designers, hip hop artists, mariachis, rockers, etc) I was getting burned out! I thought this would be a good way to move from myspace to something more to my passion. Do you agree?

This site is AWESOME. I just stumbled on it today. I say invite all Tejano fans. Many of us who are into the other music are also Conjunto Fans. You have a wealth of information on this site,links to the history etc, and so many people participating in the blogs and forums , it's a way that the rest of us can learn more about Conjunto. Just make sure people know to confine their posting , blogging, photos and videos to Conjunto only. People see this kind of enthuiasm ,well it is contageous.

I completly agree.....this site should be straight up Conjunto.....No Mas......thats it.........that is what draws me to his site is the fact that its Puro Conjunto......which is why I cant understand why you have that Video clip of Little Joe....telling us about the History ofConjunto Music, when he is all the way Tejano......as long as I can remember......and I'm old.......he's Tejano.....just because Public Brodcasting TV asked him to narrate....a video about Conjunto does'nt make him (Little Joe Hernandez and the Family ) Conjunto.....and for you to have that on the front page of the Canton......it seems that you are promoting Tejano instead of asking that this site be only Conjunto........Not hating just talking straight......Thanks Marta

I love your passion for Conjunto music!! You have come to right place! Of course, I agree that Little Joe is not conjunto. I believe there are two types of Tejano music, Conjunto and Not Conjunto. However, I like the video because it has Conjunto legend Valerio Longoria, RIP (my first accordion teacher) and Mingo Saldivar in it! About 10 years ago Little Joe recorded a song that included, Valerio Longoria and I know Little Joe loves Conjunto music, but his bread and butter is La Onda Chicana - which is cool, I get goosebumps when I hear "Las Nubes" like anyone else! lol (Of course the goosebumps are bigger when I hear any song by Ruben Vela!!) I think there is confusion out there, about Conjunto Music. Which is why we stress puro Bajo Sexto y Acordeon! Conjunto is the ORIGINAL Tejano music! Thanks for sharing, El Padrino

Yup. Not only is this a much more focused site, but it is more open since participants tend to be passionate and not just (possibly) extreme.

Conjutoislife is a purposed venue with an altruistic goal involving tradition and heart. This sharing platform motivates easy linking with those of like thought, as some demonstration of knowledge and love of the genre are necessary to participate, but advanced knowledge comes from the shared experience.

You are right Rosa, tradition and heart, that is what we are all about. I agree that Conjunto music lovers range from passionate to extremists - but the source is the same, respect and appreciation for the music born out of the experience of our people.
