MINE FAVORITE ACCORDIAN PLAYER IS PAULINO BERNAL FROM THE EARLIER DAYS JUST THINK OF THE CORDS HE WAS USING & THIS WAS IN LATE 50'S 60'S WICKED CORDS AUGMENTED, DIMISHIED CORDS ,7TH CORDS , TRIAD CORDS HE MADE HIS MARK QUE NO CARNALES,QUE VIVA LA MUSICA DE CONJUNTO,Y LA COOR'S LITE LOL!!!
THE KING IS DON ANTONIO, BUT CAN'T LEAVE OUT JOE MARTINEZ, JIMMY GARCIA, STEVE JORDAN & STEVEN MARTINEZ !
That's a tough one for me. There are a lot of great accordionist all who have influenced my style of playing. Ruben Naranjo played with corazon and his simple accordion riffs hit your soul. Joe Martinez made me want to jam out on the box. Jimmy Garcia had such a unique style that it brought attitude to the art of playing the squeeze box. Then there is Valerio Longorio who influenced all of these guys in one form or another. Like I said, its tough but if I had to go with one guy it would be the late great Joe Martinez.
DO I HAVE TO PICK ONE?? ITS NOT THAT EASY. THROUGHOUT OUR MUSICAL HISTORY WE HAVE HAD PLENTY FRON DON SANTIAGO JIMENEZ TO VALERIO LONGORIA, TONY DE LA ROSA, EL PARCHE ESTEBAN JORDAN. NOW YOU ADD THE MIX FROM OUR YOUNGET GENERATION SUCH AS ALBERT ZAMORA, JAIME DE ANDA, AND MANY MORE IT MAKES IT HARD. SOOO MANY INFLUENCES. SOOO LITTLE TIME, LOL BUT ONE THAT DOES STAND OUT HAS TO BE RUBEN VELA, AND I KNOW I LOVE ANGEL FLORES PERO RUBEN VELA TIENE LA TOCADA PERO MUUUUUUY SUAVECITA. DIFFERENT STYLE, ANYONE THINK OTHERWISE?? CMON GUYS AND GIRS START TALKING, LOL
Manuel Guerrero
Emilio Aguilar (Los Aguilares)
Leonel Pulido (Los Clasicos)
Tony de la Rosa
Valerio Longoria
Eddie Lalo Torres

just to name a few
Manuel Guerrero, Emilio Aguilar, Valero Longoria, Eddie Lalo Torres....PURO SAN ANTONIO!
