I know they are doing a Documentary on Juanito Castillo right now. Just a reminder to all my Conjunto friends. Bene taught Jaunito to play the accordion when he was 6 years old. He put his hands over my dads and learned that way. since then he has played with other accordionists as well. But for my father not to be mentioned in the Documentary is just wrong. hopefully my friends can spread the word.See More

- My father is the best accordion player in conjunto, and the best accordion ever!! Bene Medina is my father. Bene is a fantastic accordion player and teacher as well. He is in 3 hall of fames and 1 lifetime achievement award.
BENE MEDINA students
Right now i am in the process of directing a art project based on my father Bene Medina. it's a sculptor project based on Bene for his contribution to CONJUNTO MUSIC, not only in SAN ANTONIO but all over the world too. I'm looking for any students of my father. I'm interviewing his students so that i can release a video and book based on this project. We are in the infancy stage of this. The name of the sculpture will be "Soul of Puro Conjunto". So if anybody out there has been taught by Bene please get a hold of me. Any questions just ask. I believe with the help of my CONJUNTO friends that we can keep the SOUL of PURO CONJUNTO alive for future generations. Always looking for help too. Just give me a shout. thank you. and Juan my dad is waiting for your second lesson. Bene said you can bring martin as well. hahahahaha. be good amigos.

- hi rolando, thanks for adding me as a homie on conjunto is life. Bene is one of my faves! I got to meet him for the first time about 2 years at the Balderrama Ranch, and I got to record him playing the Olympica Vals for me along with the vals, Viva Mi Desgracia. He's so humble, and so nice!!! I totally dig those Conjunto Bernal songs that he does with Conjunto Aguila. That's top notch stuff. Nick is also one of my faves. He's also very humble and oh so funny. :) Long story short, I got to meet him after a gig I played at and he gave me a bendicion. That's the short version. God bless you on that beutiful sculpture and biography you're doing on him.
